The Charleston Visitor Center is alive with activity this week in honor of America's 250th! Guests are greeted with a bag full of commemorative items, including the Revolutionary Passport, which will guide people to various sites relevant to the period. If someone is more interested in a digital, gamified experience exploring our Revolutionary sites and attractions, we'll get you set up with the GooseChase app, which offers a version that lets players earn points and a chance to be entered into a $250 drawing!
Add your name to history by signing the Declaration of Independence, which will be preserved via a time capsule to be opened in 2076. Have your photo made in cutouts where you'll be dressed to the Revolutionary nines!
Tony Youmans, Director of the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon, will join us for storytelling, bringing history to life. And Eric Barnes, host of the Historyman podcast, will be on site with his comic books, which use storytelling and exciting imagery to educate people about the Revolutionary War in South Carolina.
Red, white, and blue popcorn is complimentary (as long as supplies last) as is ice cold sweet tea. Come and join us - huzzah!
