Visit Sullivan’s Island for a special Palmetto Log Fort exhibit representing one of the most important Revolutionary War structures in South Carolina. Based on the original palmetto log fortification constructed prior to the Battle of Sullivan’s Island on June 28, 1776, the exhibit highlights the unique design and materials that helped defend Charleston Harbor and later inspired South Carolina’s iconic palmetto and crescent symbols.

This activation will be part of the Revolutionary City experience and offers visitors a meaningful way to connect with the origins of Carolina Day and Charleston’s Revolutionary past.
