Living History on the Diamond: 2nd South Carolina Regiment at RiverDogs Opening Day

Kick off the 2026 Charleston RiverDogs season with a little Revolutionary flair! Members of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment — living historians from right here in the Lowcountry — will join RiverDogs players for Opening Day introductions, riding in as part of the on-field ceremony before taking their place on the diamond for the national anthem.

The RiverDogs are proud partners of SC250 Charleston, and this season they're bringing the spirit of the American Revolution to America's pastime. Come out to Riley Park to cheer on the home team, witness a one-of-a-kind opening night ceremony, and celebrate the stories and traditions that make Charleston one of the most historically rich cities in the nation.

This is a great opportunity to see SC250 Charleston programming in action and to support a local institution that has been a champion of this commemoration season from the start.

The 2nd South Carolina Regiment appearance is part of SC250 Charleston's broader commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
